A Journey Through the Seasons

I went to the Nickel Creek Concert last Thursday at Harrahs. It was an awesome show, with a few exceptions that had little to do with the performers.

First, who ever was lighting the show decided to use the projectors for evil rather than good. The theme, which I can only imagine the designer thought was "A Journey Through the Seasons with Nickel Creek" Included many weather related effects that were distracting at best. There were also two bar skanks rocking out. Also, judging by what the waitresses were wearing Harrahs is running some sort of prostitute rehab program.

High points include an absolutely hilarious rendition of Britney Spears' Toxic, to which even the dancing bar skanks could only look on in awe at the only song that their dancing would be appropriate for. For an encore the lead singer played, amazingly, a Bach concerto on the mandolin. The opening act was Ben Lee from Australia who turned out to be a good act, although I think I was sitting next to a guy who was there more to see Ben rather than Nickel Creek.

When I think of Nickel Creek, I always, always, think of bar skanks.
