Wet phone

A series of events conspired to destroy my phone yesterday. First, to kick off our two week layoff at work I went hunting with my dad, it was cold, and i got nothing. second, I had went home the night before to spend the night because we were leaving early on monday morning. third, my mom was sick and kinda out of it. Fourth, I left my phone at home in my jeans pocket. Fifth, my mom was doing a load of laundry and stuck my jeans in there to finish off the load. this is where three and five really come into play, being out of it, my mom didn't really check the pockets of my jeans before putting them in the wash, which when she did my laundry regulary she always did, so i attribute this to her flu. I came home to exceptionally clean and broken phone. A new one will arrive wednesday or thursday, so bless cingular for including two day delivery for insured phones.

The holiday scowl

Today i was unwillingly drug into the holiday driving shuffle, I just wanted to see a movie. The movie theater is across the street from a mall and has shops of it's own so extra trafficcy deliciousness. I was in a right lane where most everyone turns in to the kohls parking lot, when a guy trying to get on the street going the other way realized I wasn't turning and he needed to stop. I had to dodge him a bit, and it wasn't neccesarily his fault ( he couldn't see that I didn't have my blinker on, not that most people use them) but then i saw it, the holiday scowl, that look you get when you've just left a store after finding nothing suitable, and knowing that it will take you twenty minutes to get across the street with only marginal hopes of finding a gift. It's a combination of anger and hopelessness combined with too much crappy christmas music, it makes me laugh a little.

You should have thought of this before

When shopping for clothing as a gift the debate over whether or not it will fit the giftee should not take place as the cashier is ringing up you're items. The couple in front of me made this mistake at Old Navy today and I took a moment to think the worse of them, as should you.

By the way

The chaps post isn't coming back, you all saw it anyway. Watch this instead.

Birthday fun

Margret, Donald, Robyn, and I hung out tonight, not neccesarily for my birthday but "happy birthday" was said so it was as much that as anything else. We played at killing princesses (no explaination for the uninitiated) monopoly, ate cholesterol with a bit of food in it at Winsteads, and drove around looking at christmas lights. all in all a fun night, truly it delivered.
